Hello, I’m Emma

I’m a project manager and a parent. An expat living in Seattle, United States.

A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter living abroad.

How It Started

Relocating to United States wasn’t part of our long-range plans. Like many moves for expats, it started as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something much larger.

The first months were intense — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But slowly, routines formed. We discovered places that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.

Why I Built Relocate & Thrive

Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.

This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in United States.

What This Site Represents (And What It Does Not)

This site IS:

  • Practical experience gained from living in United States
  • Centered on family life and everyday realities
  • Updated when a real change occurs

This site ISN'T:

  • Not an official resource of a tourism authority
  • Not a sponsored review platform
  • Not a generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our stay in United States continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we find.

If you have questions about family life in Seattle or anywhere in United States, feel free to get in touch.

Best regards,

Emma
